SHARP
The Shelter Housing Aid and Research
Project (SHARP) is a registered charity which provides specialist housing
advice and practical help to people who have housing problems. This includes people who have somewhere to live as well as those who are homeless.
The SHARP housing support scheme is
a service provided for offenders across all risk levels and individuals with a
drug dependency. The aim of the service is to enable people to manage their own tenancies
and to remain in independent accommodation.
The service identifies individual needs and will try to ensure services can meet them, with regard to issues of public and community safety and public protection. The housing support workers help their service users to make their flats not just liveable but decent and comfortable.
It is necessary for housing support workers to make regular home visits in order to observe the progress made by service users in their own surroundings.
The SHARP office is at 13 Welford Road, opposite the Council. It is wheelchair accessible. Telephone 0116 254 6064.
