SINGLE EQUALITY SCHEME 

Leicestershire and Rutland Probation Trust’s (LRPT) Single Equality Scheme details how we will promote equality of opportunity, eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment and promote good community relations.

The scheme details how we will assess the likely impacts of our policies, monitoring arrangements and how we will communicate with our diverse customers. LRPT already has strong foundations in place for consulting with staff, customers, partners and stakeholders and will continue to build on these.

The scheme replaces our existing Race Equality, Disability Equality and Gender Equality Schemes. In anticipation of the forthcoming Equality Bill it also covers three further strands of age, religion and beliefs and sexual orientation.

This is a living document and we welcome comments and suggestions from staff, partners, community groups, stakeholders and other interested parties. The Scheme and Action Plan will be reviewed annually and further published on our website www.leicsprobation.co.uk.
